A Roadtrek 190 Popular with an aisle shower is a different buying decision from a widened 210 with a permanent bathroom or a ProMaster-based Zion. The badge identifies a family of Class B camper vans, not one standard vehicle. To determine what your Roadtrek is worth around Houston, start with the exact van, its layout and the equipment still working inside it.
What's my Roadtrek worth as a cash purchase?
A cash purchase number reflects your particular Roadtrek’s condition and sale circumstances, rather than the retail category shown in a pricing guide. Model year, mileage, maintenance, living-area systems and needed repairs all matter. Engine hours, when available, and generator hours add context that an odometer alone cannot provide.
For a Roadtrek blue book value, match the year and named model in J.D. Power’s RV guide, then review which equipment and value category the entry represents. Retail guide figures describe a different transaction from an outright cash purchase, so they should not be treated as interchangeable.
This page helps you organize the comparison; it is not an appraisal. Our explanation of RV pricing factors covers the broader distinctions, while RV values by model helps keep other brands separate.
Which Roadtrek model years and generations matter?
Roadtrek’s eras matter because the chassis, layouts and manufacturing history changed over time. These milestones do not establish the first or last year of every named floor plan.
| Years | What changed |
|---|---|
| 1974 and 1980 | Home & Park’s project began in 1974; Roadtrek dates its recognizable sweeping roofline, lowered floor and three-section layout to 1980. |
| 2008 chassis / 2009–08 brochure | The lineup included Chevrolet-based 170, 190 and 210 models, plus Sprinter-based SS Agile and RS Adventurous vans. |
| 2015–2018 | A 2015 Zion guide entry identifies the ProMaster platform. Certain 2015–2018 Zions appear in the brake-line recall. Erwin Hymer Group acquired Roadtrek in 2016. |
| 2019–2025 | Receivership interrupted manufacturing in 2019. Groupe Rapido acquired Roadtrek assets, supporting Roadtrek Inc.’s manufacturing restart. |
| 2026 / published 2027 lineup | Conestogo Partners acquired Roadtrek in 2026. Published 2027 models include Zion, Chase, Play and Wave variants. |
Compare the title, chassis identification label, VIN and original build paperwork. A chassis year can differ from the finished motorhome’s model year: the published 2027 Zion, for example, uses a 2026 chassis. Use the matching brochure to confirm the generation and layout.

Which Roadtrek layout matches the next owner's needs?
Bathroom design, passenger seating and bed configuration help determine which buyers will consider your Roadtrek. The following lengths and arrangements describe the 2008-chassis brochure, not every later version.
- 170 Popular, 18 feet 9 inches: Compact Chevrolet layout with privacy doors around the toilet and an aisle shower.
- 190 Popular, 20 feet 5 inches: Rear dinette or optional power sofa makes twins or a king; the bathroom is temporarily enclosed.
- 190 Versatile, 20 feet 5 inches: Four front seats and a rear sofa/double bed emphasize passenger use.
- 210 Popular or Versatile, 21 feet 11 inches: Wider body and permanent bathroom. Popular offers twins or a king; Versatile has an 80-by-60-inch queen arrangement.
- SS Agile, 19 feet 5 inches: Short-wheelbase Sprinter with a permanent bathroom and rear convertible sleeping area.
- RS Adventurous, 22 feet 9 inches: Longer Sprinter with second-row seating and a permanent bathroom.
The published 2027 Zion adds an open center aisle, wet bath and rear twins-or-king arrangement. Photograph your actual bed setup and count installed belted seats; missing mattresses or furniture can change the comparison.
Why separate Chevrolet, Sprinter and ProMaster Roadtreks?
These Roadtreks need separate comparisons because their engines, dimensions and service needs differ. A diesel badge or newer transmission alone does not settle value; maintenance and working equipment still count.
In the 2008-chassis brochure, the 170 uses a Chevrolet Express 2500, and the 190 uses an Express 3500 extended van. The Chevrolet engine table lists a 6.0-liter gasoline V8. The 210 extends the Chevrolet frame behind the rear wheels and adds a steel-cage-reinforced fiberglass body.
That brochure’s SS Agile and RS Adventurous use Mercedes-built Sprinter 2500 vans with a 3.0-liter CRD V6 turbo diesel. The RS description specifies a five-speed automatic. The published 2027 Zion uses a Ram ProMaster 3500, 159-inch EXT chassis, a 3.6-liter gasoline V6 and a nine-speed automatic.
Keep chassis service invoices alongside house-system records. They answer different questions about the same camper van.
What adds value, and what pulls the number down?
Working, correctly identified Roadtrek equipment strengthens a comparison; unresolved repairs and unclear modifications weaken it. An option’s name is less useful than evidence that the installed system operates.
Details that support value:
- Complete rear-bed components, front folding mattresses and removable storage furniture.
- Demonstrated battery, inverter, charging, air-conditioning and generator operation.
- Records identifying AGM, EcoTrek/KS2 lithium or other installed house-power equipment.
- Repair invoices showing completed VIN-specific recall work.
- Conversion and maintenance documents for a Quigley-equipped 190; compare it with other genuinely converted vans.
Details that lower the offer or require investigation:
- Water stains, damaged floors, deteriorated seals or incomplete interior components.
- House batteries that will not charge, unexplained shutdowns or undocumented wiring changes.
- Open safety campaigns or missing evidence of repairs.
- Mechanical faults, a nonrunning engine or systems that cannot be demonstrated.
Owners of a 2018 RS Adventurous reported an EcoTrek/KS2 bank that would not stay on or charge, with a bad battery later diagnosed. A 2018 Zion owner reported changing inverter/charger wiring. These individual reports are not proof of a universal Roadtrek electrical defect.
Which Roadtrek recalls deserve a VIN check?
Recall coverage depends on the individual Roadtrek’s VIN, year and installed equipment. Check your van at NHTSA’s recall lookup, including applicable chassis records, and save repair orders showing the work performed.
- 18V529000: Certain 2015–2018 Zions with side-facing sofas could have rear brake-line damage from the installation. Repairs involve brake lines and sofa bolts as needed.
- 15V404000: Certain 2014 Sprinter-based Roadtreks could have damaged or dislodged front-seat connections affecting optional SH9 thorax airbags. The remedy modifies those connections.
- 21V356000: Certain 2020–2021 Zion, Zion SRT and Play vans had undermount AGM charging-generator regulators that could damage batteries. Inspection and generator replacement may be required.
- 21V477000: Certain 2020–2021 vehicles received a gas detector without a carbon-monoxide alarm; the campaign provided a CO detector.
- 22V065000 and 22V492000: Separate campaigns address a potentially unattached water-heater propane line and an improper LPG service-valve connection.
- 22V385000 and 23V112000: Separate cooktop campaigns address damaged valves and fractured SDS2 burner tubes.
The propane and cooktop campaigns involve certain 2021–2022 Roadtrek models, with different coverage for each. Do not assume every Zion, Play or Chase is affected. Completed repairs deserve documentation, not merely a seller’s statement that the recall was handled.
How does Gulf Coast storage affect a Roadtrek inspection?
Houston heat and humidity make cooling performance, seal condition and interior moisture useful inspection priorities. Roadtrek construction varies, so inspect the individual van rather than assuming every model has the same roof or cabinetry.
The older Chevrolet brochure describes built-in Dometic heat-pump/air-conditioning equipment, unlike the exposed rooftop units on its Sprinter models. The published 2027 Zion lists a Truma Aventa Eco roof air conditioner. Show how your installed unit operates, and photograph its surrounding seals and any stains beneath it.
The 210’s added fiberglass body warrants attention at body joints and openings. Older brochure interiors include real cherry cabinet doors; newer company descriptions discuss reduced wood use and aluminum cabinet structures. Describe what your van actually contains, and disclose storage conditions or moisture damage without assuming a brand-wide leak problem.
What information helps us price your particular Roadtrek?
A useful Roadtrek offer request identifies both the chassis and the living-area build. Lisa RV Buyers purchases current and older Roadtrek years among the Class B camper vans we buy.
Send the model year, floor plan code or full model name, VIN, mileage, generator hours and engine hours if displayed. Include exterior, roof, floor and damage photos, plus pictures of the bathroom, rear bed, battery labels and controls.
Through our offer request page, you can prepare the details, then call or text 936-234-4278. There is no fee or commitment for an offer. Your description and pictures establish a starting number; we confirm the purchase amount after examining the van.
We travel to your Roadtrek and coordinate its pickup within Greater Houston. We also consider leaking, water-damaged and nonrunning vans, though extensive repairs can mean a modest offer. Our purchase details explain the broader transaction.
Roadtrek value: owner questions
How should I research a 2008 Roadtrek value?
Identify the full model name before comparing a 2008 Roadtrek with guide entries or other vans. A 170 Popular, 210 Versatile and RS Adventurous differ in chassis, size and bathroom arrangement. Check the title and chassis label, then account for mileage, installed equipment and repair needs. A listing’s asking price is not evidence of a completed sale.
Are Roadtrek 210 problems the same as problems on a 190?
Do not treat the two as identical. The 210 described in the 2009–08 brochure has an extended Chevrolet frame and a wider, steel-cage-reinforced fiberglass body, while its permanent bathroom differs from the 190’s temporary enclosure. Inspect the actual body joints, floors and systems. Those construction differences do not establish a universal 210 defect.
Does lithium equipment automatically make a Roadtrek more valuable?
No. Identify the battery system, capacity and charging equipment, then demonstrate operation. EcoTrek/KS2 equipment should not be treated as equivalent to AGM batteries or the different lithium equipment in a newer Zion. Individual owners reported charging trouble in specific 2018 vans, so repair records and a working demonstration are more useful than the lithium label alone.
Can I compare my older Zion with the published 2027 Zion specifications?
Only compare features that your older Zion actually has. The published 2027 model specifies a particular ProMaster chassis, powertrain, cooling system and layout. Those specifications do not establish equipment on earlier years. Your build paperwork, component labels and photographs should identify the solar, batteries, controls and air conditioner used for your comparison.
Can I sell my Roadtrek if some of its camping equipment no longer works?
Yes. Lisa RV Buyers considers Roadtreks with failed equipment, leaks, water damage and nonrunning engines. Describe each fault and photograph the affected area rather than presenting the van as fully functional. Significant repair needs can reduce the offer substantially, and the final purchase number is established after the Roadtrek is inspected in person.
