Current and discontinued Newmar models, any floor plan and model year.
A Dutch Star, a Bay Star and a Super Star need different information for an accurate buying conversation. If you want to sell your Newmar RV in Houston, start with the coach’s exact identity rather than just the name on its front cap. Newmar is part of Winnebago Industries and builds Class A and Class C motorhomes, including Super C models. This guide separates those families and explains which details matter when you sell.
Which Newmar Class A motorhomes can you sell?
You can sell any year of Newmar Class A, including the families listed below. Lisa RV Buyers considers older coaches as well as newer units, so an unfamiliar name or dated exterior design is not a reason to leave yours out.
The family name alone does not establish the engine, layout or equipment. Bay Star and Bay Star Sport are gas-model families; Canyon Star requires particular attention to the year because its powertrain and toy-hauler availability have varied.
| RV type | Newmar model families | Identification detail |
|---|---|---|
| Class A | Dutch Star, Ventana, New Aire | Record the individual floor plan code |
| Class A | Mountain Aire, London Aire | Match the badge to the coach documents |
| Class A | Essex, King Aire | Document installed equipment separately |
| Class A | Bay Star, Bay Star Sport | Gas-model families; keep the names distinct |
| Class A | Canyon Star | Verify year, powertrain and any garage layout |
| Class A | Kountry Star | Include the year; do not infer current availability |
| Class C / Super C | Super Star, Supreme Aire | Identify the chassis as well as the coach |
See our Class A motorhome buying guide for the broader category.
Which Newmar Class C motorhomes do we consider?
We consider Newmar’s Super Star and Supreme Aire Super C motorhomes. These belong in the Class C category, not in a list that treats every Newmar as a Class A diesel pusher.
For a Super C, photograph both the living area and the truck-style cab. The chassis identification, dashboard mileage, engine information and cab condition add context that an exterior side photo cannot provide. Include the sleeping space above the cab if your layout has one, plus the access between cab and living area.
Keep chassis service records separate from coach repair records when possible. Our Class C motorhome page explains that wider category without changing how your Newmar should be identified.

How do you find your Newmar model, year and floor plan?
You identify your Newmar most reliably by comparing the coach labels and documents, rather than relying on one exterior badge. A replacement decal or an old advertisement can leave out information needed to distinguish two layouts.
Use this checklist:
- VIN plate: Photograph the complete vehicle identification number and any adjacent manufacturer information.
- Exterior decals: Capture the family name, including “Sport” if it appears on a Bay Star Sport.
- Title: Compare its VIN with the vehicle and note the stated year.
- Owner’s manual: Look for model-specific paperwork and any recorded floor plan designation.
- Coach labels or original sales documents: Check for a model or floor plan code, then photograph the full label rather than copying one number.
A motorhome’s chassis information and coach model-year information may not appear identical. Share both if you find a discrepancy; do not guess which date applies. If the code remains unclear, interior photographs can help narrow down the layout.
What do Newmar RV buyers check before making an offer?
Newmar RV buyers need to evaluate the individual coach’s mechanical condition, living systems and evidence of damage. The same family name can cover vehicles with very different repair needs, especially after years of storage or travel.
For the living area, show roof seams, ceiling stains, soft flooring, window surrounds and slide openings. Describe a leak’s location and repair history instead of calling it simply “fixed.” Slide movement, seals and visible alignment matter because a good-looking interior does not establish that the room operates properly.
For the chassis, report starting and running behavior, warning lights, mileage, tire condition and service documentation. On a diesel-equipped coach, include generator hours and available engine records; for a gas coach, identify the engine rather than assuming the Newmar badge tells us.
Also note air-conditioner operation, refrigerator performance, plumbing leaks and electrical faults. These are inspection topics, not claims that a particular Newmar family has a known defect. The diesel-pusher versus gas motorhome guide explains the general powertrain distinction.
How does the floor plan affect your Newmar’s appeal?
The floor plan affects how a buyer can use the coach, so its exact code is more useful than a description such as “big bedroom.” Sleeping arrangements, bathroom access, seating and storage can distinguish otherwise similar motorhomes.
Photograph the interior with slides extended when that can be done safely. Then show the travel configuration so narrow passages, refrigerator access and bathroom access are visible. Identify furniture that has been removed or replaced, including changes to dining seating or sleeping capacity.
For a historical Canyon Star with a toy-hauler layout, document the garage, ramp, tie-down area and any changes to that space. Do not assume every Canyon Star includes a garage. A clearly explained modification is easier to assess than an unexplained difference from the original layout.
What affects Newmar resale value and trade-in comparisons?
Newmar resale value depends on the coach’s year, configuration, condition and supporting records, not just its original purchase price. Mileage deserves context: a regularly serviced motorhome and one that sat unused may need very different work.
Service receipts can explain recent repairs, but money spent does not necessarily return dollar for dollar in a sale. Likewise, aftermarket furniture or electronics may suit your preferences without adding the same amount to an offer.
When comparing Newmar trade in value with an outright sale, separate the allowance from the rest of the replacement-vehicle deal. Discounts, fees and financing can change the overall result. Compare your net position rather than one headline number. Our RV depreciation guide covers general age-related value changes without assigning a fixed percentage to your coach.
Can you sell an older or discontinued Newmar?
Yes, we buy older Newmar models of any year, including Kountry Star and earlier versions of the other families listed here. This is a used-owner reference, not a claim that every name remains in the current lineup.
An older coach benefits from a clear account of what works today. Describe missing equipment, past water intrusion, exterior damage and systems you have not tested. If the motorhome does not start, say that instead of presenting mileage as the main condition detail.
Significant deterioration can mean a modest offer. Age alone, however, does not describe the entire vehicle. You can also browse the RV brands we buy if you are comparing another RV in your household.
What should Houston-area Newmar owners document after storage?
Houston-area owners should document the coach’s present condition, especially anything that changed during storage. A Newmar used for Lake Conroe weekends, Galveston stays or Hill Country trips still needs an assessment based on what is visible and working now.
Look around window seals, roof edges and storage compartments for moisture evidence. If the coach spent time near the coast, photograph visible corrosion rather than assuming it is harmless or severe. For a stored motorhome, note when it last ran and which appliances you have recently tested.
Tell us if slides cannot extend in the current parking space. Storage access, overhead clearance and a blocked driveway are useful practical details, particularly for a large Class A or Super C.
What should you send to sell your Newmar RV in Houston?
Send the model identity, floor plan, mileage and an honest condition summary, accompanied by exterior, interior and label photos. Include close-ups of damage and a short list of equipment that does not work; those details make the conversation more useful than a polished vacation photo.
Call or text Lisa RV Buyers at 936-234-4278, or use the offer request page. Your description and photos guide the preliminary figure, with an on-site look settling the amount. We travel to the coach within our service area and coordinate its collection; payment takes place at the signed closing before it departs. The how it works guide covers the remaining sale details.
Selling a Newmar: common questions
Is a Bay Star Sport the same model as a Bay Star?
No. Bay Star and Bay Star Sport are separate Newmar model families, although both are gas Class A searches. Keep the full name in your sale information and photograph the badge and identifying documents. Leaving off Sport can lead someone to compare your coach with the wrong family, equipment or layout.
Should I repair every problem before selling my Newmar?
You do not need to assume every repair will increase the sale proceeds by its cost. First document the problem, any diagnosis and the repair estimate you already have. A leaking roof, failed appliance and cosmetic scratch have different implications. Avoid spending money solely on the assumption that it will all come back in the offer.
Can I sell a Newmar that has replacement furniture?
Replacement furniture does not prevent you from discussing a sale. Show the current installation and explain what was removed, especially if the change affects sleeping capacity, seat belts, storage or slide clearance. Include any original pieces you still have. The actual interior matters more than an old brochure showing furniture that is no longer installed.
What if my Newmar’s odometer reading seems low for its age?
Report the displayed mileage accurately and explain any known instrument replacement or reading discrepancy. Low mileage alone does not establish condition, especially after extended storage. Service records, recent use, tire information and the behavior of the engine and living systems help give the reading context without treating it as proof of a higher value.
Are generator hours the same as motorhome mileage?
No. Generator hours measure the generator’s recorded operating time, while the odometer records vehicle travel. Photograph both readings if available and identify which is which. Generator service receipts and a description of how it currently operates are also useful. A coach can accumulate generator use while parked without adding road mileage.
Do I need professional photographs of my Dutch Star or Ventana?
Professional photography is not necessary for an initial conversation about your Dutch Star or Ventana. Clear phone pictures in daylight are more useful than heavily edited images. Show each exterior side, the main interior areas, identification labels and any damage. Avoid filters, and add a close-up when a wider photo does not reveal the issue.
